Janelle Parish - Artist of the Month - Dayboro Community Art Gallery

Like most people who paint, Janelle's art practice has been a life-long romance. Attending many workshops with different well known professionals has helped hone her skills, and the highlight, travelling with a group of fellow artists to Tuscany in 2008 - a very rewarding experience.

Janelle enjoys painting "en plein air" but for convenience also uses personal photographs for reference and prefers oils which allows her to be more expressive.

Janelle's inspiration comes from french impressionists and the artists belonging to the Australian Heidelberg School and she hopes to emulate their styles while developing her own.

Landscapes and vignettes of the lives of the people around her are passions which Janelle will continue to pursue while losing herself in the romance of painting.
